With the addition of the Dillon Family Aquatics Center, the Fremont Family YMCA is the largest Y in the United States. The natatorium features an eight-lane 50-meter Olympic-size pool and it’s no wonder that Olympians and hopeful future Olympians flock here. But don’t let the shine from gold medals turn you away. WNB Architects along with their aquatics team knew we needed to create a space to encourage all, a home for Olympians and beginners.
While Olympian Dick Bick’s competition days may be behind him, he can still be seen at the aquatic center weekly enjoying aquatic exercise. While a potential spring board for the world’s aquatic stage, this center remains true to it’s root – a YMCA for family, friends, young, and old to enjoy and recreate. For those looking for aquatic recreation, there are several programs offered by the Y including swim classes, training, and water aerobics programs.
The Fremont Family YMCA is committed to ensuring that every first-grader in Fremont becomes a competent swimmer. So take a dip the next time you’re in Fremont, you may be swimming next a first time swimmer following in the strokes in Mr. Blick.
